  • 1934 Born in Al-Ja’far neighborhood, Karkh, Baghdad.
  • Worked as a plaster porter in the 1940s after the British invasion, earning 40 fils.
  • His talent for drawing began to emerge at a young age, when he drew on cigarette pack paper, influenced by the artist Abdul Qadir Rassam, whom he considered his first art teacher and who was his neighbor at the time.
  • He then began drawing with Sabri Al-Khattat, amazing the artists of the time.
  • 1948 Joined the Institute of Fine Arts as a student, where he met artists such as Faik Hassan, whose work he admired, alongside Hafidh Al-Droubi, Ismail Al-Chekhli, Jewad Selim, Ata Sabri, and Shaker Hassan Al-Said.
  • 1952 Traveled to Lebanon for tourism with artist Hafidh Al-Droubi. He was captivated by the country and decided to settle there for a long time, where he married and had five children.
  • 1955 Traveled to Germany and toured European museums.
  • 1963 Due to the unstable conditions in Lebanon, he left the country for Kuwait at the invitation of his friend Yousef Ahmed Al-Ghanem, for whom he painted private paintings. He opened a shop there on Jahra Street.
  • 1966 Left Kuwait and returned ten years later, remaining there, working and painting in his home, as he was unable to renew his shop license due to the lack of a sponsor.
  • 1982 Held an exhibition in Iraq, where officials helped him purchase all of his paintings and honored him generously.
  • Held several solo exhibitions, Stuttgart, Germany, and other exhibitions in Cairo and Beirut. Newspapers described him as "the Dust of the East," due to his paintings' association with the spirit of the desert.
  • 1996 Passed away in Lebanon on 16 April.
