JEWAD SELIM: A NEW LIFE

To celebrate the launch of the Jewad Selim Catalogue Raisonné—a landmark publication honoring one of the greats of Iraqi Modernism—Art Dubai hosted a special talk moderated by Nada Shabout, curator of Art Dubai Modern 2025, featuring Hasanain Al-Ibrahimy, founder of the Ibrahimi Collection, and Nima Sagharchi, editor of the Catalogue Raisonné. The discussion, explored Selim’s enduring legacy and the future of Arab art.

In the 1950s, Jewad Selim shaped a movement that proudly embraced Iraqi identity while building bold connections with the global art world.

Produced over three years with the artist’s family and published by Skira, this 376-page volume includes 111 paintings, over 60 sculptures, rare murals, and precious archival material—a major milestone for Arab art history.
