1929 Born into a family of traditional potters in Varosha, Famagusta, Cyprus, his father, Christos Charalambous, was well-known for sculpting in the Mycenaean style.
1948 Studied at the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London with Dora Billington and Gilbert Harding-Green, and in St. Ives, Cornwall with Bernard Leach.
1951 Obtained a diploma from the Central School with distinction and worked as a technical assistant in the studies at the Central School and Bernard Leach's workshop.
1952 Returned to Cyprus to work with his father in his ceramic workshop in Famagusta.
1957 Contacted by the Cultural Attaché of Great Britain in Cyprus to see if he would be interested in traveling to Baghdad to teach at the Institute of Fine Arts. He responded positively and traveled to Baghdad, where he headed to the headquarters of the Ministry of Education of Iraq to be assigned as a teacher at the Institute of Fine Arts and to oversee the establishment of the Department of Ceramics.
1960 Assigned to establish a similar department to teach Ceramic Art at the ‘Tahrir’ Girls College, Baghdad.
1967 Joined the newly established Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Baghdad, where he became the head of the Department of Ceramics, a position he held until his retirement. He gained Iraqi nationality and takes pride in being one of the holders of Iraqi citizenship, just like millions of Iraqis whom he loves and feels connected to.
1985 Retired from the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Baghdad and returned to Cyprus. He continued to visit Baghdad occasionally to see his friends and colleagues until the end of the 1990s. He confirmed that he still receives his retirement salary from the Iraqi government on a monthly basis, up until now in 2022.
1987 The Iraqi Government honored him for his contribution to the development of Iraqi Fine Art as both a teacher and artist.
1988-1998 Started working for the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus and was responsible for the cultural relations between Cyprus and Arab countries.
1992 His work was awarded at the Cairo Triennale for Ceramics.
2001 Included in the Lifetime Achievement Award list of the IBC in Cambridge, UK.
2005 Included in the list of “100 Top Artists” in the world of the IBC in Cambridge, UK.
2010 A documentary of him entitled ‘Valentinos Charalambous’ was filmed by the Antoni Tapis Foundation in Barcelona, Spain.
2013 Held a large retrospective exhibition at the Evagoras Lanitis Centre in Limassol, Cyprus.
2015 Published monograph book ‘Valentinos Charalambous’ and held an exhibition by the same title.
He participated in all the art exhibitions in Iraq from 1957 until the nineties, presenting numerous artworks, mainly ceramics, as well as some sketches and paintings.
He held many solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions throughout Europe, the Middle East, and the United States.
Won several honors from various organizations for enriching the field of Ceramics around the world, especially in the Middle East.
His works are included in many private and public collections in Cyprus, Greece, the UK, Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, and the USA.
He lives in Limassol in a facility containing his residence, workshop, and gallery.

• 1929 وُلد الفنان فالنتينوس كارالامبوس في فاروشا-فاماغوستا في قبرص لعائلة عريقة من الخزافين التقليديين، حيث كان والده كريستوس كارالامبوس خزّافًا تقليديًا معروفًا جدًا.

• 1948 ذهب إلى لندن للدراسة في المدرسة المركزية للفنون والحرف اليدوية مع دورا بيلينجتون وجيلبرت هاردينج جرين، ومع برنارد ليتش في سانت ايفيس في كورنوال.

• 1951 حصل على دبلوم المدرسة المركزية للفنون في لندن (بامتياز).

• 1952 عاد إلى قبرص ليعمل مع والده في ورشتهم في فاماغوستا.

• 1957 فاتحته الملحقية الثقافية البريطانية في قبرص فيما إذا كان لديه الرغبة للسفر إلى بغداد والعمل في معهد الفنون الجميلة هناك، واستجاب لطلبهم مباشرة حيث سافر إلى بغداد وتم تعيينه كمدرس في معهد الفنون الجميلة ليتولى تأسيس فرع متخصص بفن الخزف، ويلتحق بذلك بجواد سليم الذي أسس فرع النحت وفائق حسن الذي أسس فرع الرسم قبل هذا التاريخ، وليكون ثالث ثلاثة كانوا هم نواة المعهد الناشئ والذي استمر إلى منتصف الثمانينات.

• 1960 كُلّف بتأسيس قسم لتدريس فن الخزف مماثل في كلية "التحرير" للبنات في بغداد.

• 1967 التحق بأكاديمية الفنون الجميلة المُنشأة حديثًا في جامعة بغداد في وقتها حيث أصبح رئيسًا لقسم الخزف، وهو المنصب الذي شغله حتى تقاعده. حصل على الجنسية العراقية وهو فخور بحمل هذه الجنسية مثل ملايين العراقيين الذين أحبهم وارتبط بهم.

• 1985 تقاعد من عمله في أكاديمية الفنون الجميلة-جامعة بغداد وعاد إلى قبرص، وظل يزور بغداد بين الحين والآخر ليرى أصدقاءه وزملاءه وحتى نهاية التسعينيات. وقد أكد الفنان أنه حتى الآن أي لعام 2022 لا يزال يتقاضى راتبه التقاعدي من الحكومة العراقية شهرياً.

• 1987 تم تكريمه من قبل الحكومة العراقية لمساهمته في تطوير الفن التشكيلي العراقي كمدرِّس وفنان.

• 1988 بدأ عمله في الخدمات الثقافية في وزارة التربية والتعليم والثقافة القبرصية وظل مسؤولا عن العلاقات الثقافية بين قبرص والدول العربية لسنوات تلت.

• 1992 اشترك وحصل على جائزة ترينالي القاهرة للخزف.

• 2001 تم إدراجه في قائمة "جائزة التميز مدى الحياة" من قبل مركز IBC في كامبريدج في المملكة المتحدة، وفي عام 2005 في قائمة "أفضل 100 فنان" في العالم.

• 2010 تم تصوير فيلم وثائقي عنه بعنوان "فالنتينوس كارالامبوس" من قبل مؤسسة أنطوني تابيس في برشلونة، اسبانيا.

• 2013 أقام معرضه الاستعادي الكبير في مركز Evagoras Lanitis في ليماسول - قبرص.

• 2015 نشر كتابًا بعنوان "فالنتينوس كارالامبوس" واقام معرضًا يحمل نفس الاسم.

• اشترك في جميع المعارض الفنية في العراق منذ العام 1957 حتى التسعينيات، حيث قدم العديد من الأعمال الفنية خاصة في الخزف وكذلك بعض لوحات الرسم.

• أقام العديد من المعارض الشخصية واشترك في العشرات من المعارض الجماعية في جميع أنحاء أوروبا والشرق الأوسط، والولايات المتحدة.

• حصل على العديد من الأوسمة من منظمات مختلفة لإثراء مجال السيراميك في جميع أنحاء العالم وخاصة في منطقة الشرق الأوسط.

• أعماله موجودة في العديد من المجموعات الخاصة والعامة في قبرص واليونان والمملكة المتحدة والعراق ومصر ولبنان والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.

• لازال يعيش في ليماسول في مبنى مخصص لسكنه ومعرضه وورشة عمله.
