
Another sadness lingers on the Iraqi art scene, the Iraqi plastic artist, Mahood Ahmed, passed away
Artist Mahood Ahmed was born in the city of Al-Amara in the province of Maysan in 1940 and graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad in 1963, obtained a master's degree from Moscow in the Soviet Union and a doctorate in art sciences from the Higher Institute for Theoretical Studies in Moscow in Russia and his thesis was on the artist Iraqi Yahya al-Wasiti.
He authored and published a book entitled “The Great Miniatures and Manuscript of Hariri's Maqamat in Petersburg” and was published by the Yazuri Publishing and Distribution House in cooperation with the Jordanian Ministry of Culture, as well as a book entitled “Women, Tattoos, Legend” and was printed and published by the Adeeb House for Press and Publishing. He has written many articles in several magazines such as Al-Fann magazine, Afaq Arabia and Al-Turath Al-Shaabi magazine, he held many Solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions.
The artist Mahood Ahmed left, but he left us a great artistic legacy that will remain immortal in the minds of all his fans.
