About:

In Hadisson Akhar, Ricardo has again engaged with high-level Arab achievers from across the world in the fields of science, medicine, business, politics and philanthropy. Those were the men and women who would normally shun the spotlight in order to get on with the business of 'saving the world' or 'building an empire'. Without Ricardo's persistence, many of their stories would never be told. Yet these people are among the unsung heroes of the 21st century, outstanding role models for future generations to come. Nada Shabout was born in 1962 in Scotland, though she is from Iraqi origin. She is also a historian in American Art specializing in modern Iraqi art. She is a Professor of Art History and the Coordinator of the Contemporary Arab and Muslim Cultural Studies Initiative (CAMCSI) at the University of North Texas, the founding President of the Association for Modern and Contemporary Art from the Arab World, Iran and Turkey (AMCA), and is a member of the Cultural Development Board at the Qatar Foundation. She was the first president of the Modern Art Society in Doha between 2008 and 2011 and participated in the activities of the Misk Institute of Art in cooperation with Art Dubai through her writings on the history of modern Arab art.
