1940 Artist Mahood Ahmad was born in the city of Amara in Maysan Governorate, southern Iraq.
1959 He graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad.

2009 He was honored by the Jordanian Visual Artists Association at the Jerusalem Festival, the Capital of Culture.
2010 He wrote and published a book entitled "Miniatures and Manuscript of the Great Maqamat of Hariri in Petersburg" and was published by Al-Yazouri House for Publishing and Distribution in cooperation with the Jordanian Ministry of Culture. He held a solo exhibition entitled “Crossing the Seven Gates on the Epic of Gilgamesh” at the Jordanian Visual Artists Association in Amman. Then participated in the Third International Cultural Festival of Decoration and Miniatures in Algeria. Participated in the International Symposium on the Aesthetic of Islamic Architecture in Sharjah.
He wrote many articles in several magazines such as “Al-Fan” magazine, “Afaq Arabia” and “Al-Turath Al-Shaabi” magazine.
He taught anatomy and graduation projects at the University of Jordan at the College of Art and Design.
2012 He wrote and published a book entitled "The Woman, The Tattoo, The Legend", printed and published by Al-Adeeb Press and Publication House.
2019 He participated in the exhibition of Contemporary Artists from Iraq at Ras Al-Ain Gallery in Amman.
April 10, 2021 The artist passed away at the age of eighty-one.

2002 اشترك في مهرجان بغداد العالمي في بغداد.
2009 تم تكريمه من قبل رابطة التشكيليين الأردنيين في مهرجان القدس عاصمة الثقافة.
2010 ألف وأصدر كتاب بعنوان "منمنات ومخطوطة مقامات الحريري العظمى في بطرسبورغ" ونشر من قبل دار اليازوري للنشر والتوزيع بالتعاون مع وزارة الثاقفة الأردنية. أقام معرض شخصي بعنوان عبور البوابات السبع عن ملحمة كلكامش في رابطة الفنانين التشكيليين الأردنيين في عمان واشترك في المهرجان الثقافي الدولي الثالث للزخرفة والمنمنمات في الجزائر واشترك في الندوة الدولية عن جمالية العمارة الاسلامية في الشارقة.
كتب الكثير من المقالات في عدة مجلات مثل مجلة الفن، مجلة افاق عربية والتراث الشعبي.
درّس مادة التشريح ومشاريع التخرج في جامعة الأردن في كلية الفنون والتصميم.
2012 ألف وأصدر كتاب بعنوان "المرأة، ،الوشم، الأسطورة" وطبع ونشر من قبل دار الأديب للصحافة والنشر.
2019 اشترك في معرض تشكيليون معاصرون من العراق في كاليري رأس العين في عمّان.
