1957 - 1967 Completed his primary, middle, and high school studies in Basra.
1975 - 1979 Studied and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, Italy, and obtained a BA in Fine Arts - Sculpture.
1976 Participated in the Venice Biennial, Italy.
1979 Studied the art of medals at the Medal and Coinage School in Rome, Italy.
1987 Made a bronze mural at Basra International Airport.
1988 Obtained a master's degree in Fine Arts - Sculpture.
1989 Held a solo sculpture exhibition at Al-Riwaq Hall, Baghdad.
1993 Held a solo sculpture exhibition at Al-Orfali Hall, Baghdad.
2004 Obtained a PhD in Philosophy of Fine Arts - Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad, and was awarded the rank of professorship.
2014 Held a solo exhibition entitled ‘Portrait’.
2016 Won the Iraqi Creativity Prize in the category of sculpture by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities in Baghdad.
2020 Held a virtual solo exhibition entitled ‘Memories in the Time of the Pandemic’, organized by the Public Arts Department of the Iraqi Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, in which 15 of his sculptural works were exhibited.
He currently lives in Baghdad and works as a professor of art at the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad.
Member of the Iraqi Fine Artists Association.
Member of the Iraqi Artists Syndicate.

1950 وُلد الفنان مرتضى عبود شهاب حداد في مدينة البصرة، العراق.
1957 - 1967 أكمل دراسته المدرسية للابتدائية والمتوسطة والثانوية في البصرة.
1975 – 1979 درس وتخرج من اكاديمية الفنون الجميلة في روما، ايطاليا وحاز على شهادة البكالوريوس في الفنون الجملية - النحت.
1976 اشترك في بينالي فينيسا في ايطاليا.
1979 درس فن الميداليات في مدرسة الميدالية وسكّ العملة في روما، ايطاليا.
1987 عمل جدارية من البرونز في مطار البصرة الدولي.
1988 حاز على شهادة الماجستير في الفنون التشكيلية – النحت.
1989 اقام معرض شخصي للنحت على قاعة الرواق في بغداد.
1993 اقام معرض شخصي للنحت على قاعة الاورفلي في بغداد.
2004 حاز على شهادة الدكتوراه في فلسفة الفنون الجميلة – النحت من اكاديمية الفنون الجميلة في جامعة بغداد ونال مرتبة الأستاذية.
2014 اقام معرض شخصي بعنوان "البورتريت".
2016 فاز بجائزة الابداع العراقي في فئة النحت من قبل وزارة الثقافة والسياحة والآثار في بغداد.
2020 اقام معرض شخصي افتراضي بعنوان "ذكريات في زمن الجائحة"، تنظيم من دائرة الفنون العامة التابعة لوزارة الثقافة والسياحة والآثار العراقية وعرض فيه 15 عمل نحتي.
يسكن في بغداد ويعمل استاذ للفن في أكاديمية الفنون الجميلة في جامعة بغداد.
عضو في جمعية الفنانين التشكيليين العراقيين.
عضو في نقابة الفنانين العراقيين.
عضو في الرابطة الدولية للفنون.
