1946 Born in the Abu Al-Khaseeb district of Basra Governorate, Iraq.
1951 - 1961 Completed his primary education at Al-Mahmoudiya School and his intermediate and secondary education at Abu Al-Khaseeb School for Boys.
1963 - 1969 Studied and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad, earning a degree in sculpture.
1971 Traveled to Saudi Arabia to work as a drawing teacher at the Teacher Training Institute.
After returning to Iraq, he received a scholarship to study in Germany, but was unable to travel there. He then traveled to Italy to study at the Dante Academy of Fine Arts, but he soon left the academy due to his inability to pay the tuition fees.
After returning to Iraq once more, he was assigned for a period to the Youth Melting Plant of the Ministry of Youth in Baghdad. After a while, he traveled to the UAE for work and residence.
He returned to Iraq again and joined the military service, where he was appointed as a soldier at the naval base in Basra Governorate. He completed numerous artworks, including a memorial with Najah Al-Jazaery, Akram Khan, and Qais Abdul Razzaq at a naval headquarters in Basra. Throughout his artistic career, he created numerous sculptures and monuments in several locations across Iraq.
1988 At the end of the Iran-Iraq War, while serving as a conscripted soldier, he was captured by Iranian forces along with a group of Iraqi soldiers in Iran during a military engagement. He remained a prisoner for several years.
He participated in an art competition in the Netherlands, which included Iranian artists. His works depicted the chemical attack on the city of Halabja. He painted approximately 37 paintings and won first place in the competition. The paintings were signed "Abu Haidar," and he was allowed to roam free of captivity.
After the intervention of his friends with the Red Cross and Red Crescent, for humanitarian reasons, he was released and taken to Damascus, Syria, where he stayed for a period of time until he obtained humanitarian asylum in the United States, where he traveled and settled in Tennessee.
He participated in numerous art exhibitions inside and outside Iraq, and a book about him was published entitled "The Sculptor Munqidh Al-Shryda: The Struggles of Life Between Existence and Death," by Dr. Ayad Abdul Majeed and Issam Al-Shryda.
2014 Passed away on 26 September at sixty-eight years old in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, and was buried there.

1946 وُلد الفنان منقذ عبد الوهاب الشريدة في قضاء أبي الخصيب في محافظة البصرة، العراق.
1951 - 1961 أكمل دراسته المدرسية للابتدائية في المدرسة المحمودية والمتوسطة والثانوية في مدرسة أبي الخصيب للبنين.
1963 – 1969 درس وتخرج من اكاديمية الفنون الجميلة في جامعة بغداد وحاز على شهادة في النحت.
1971 سافر الى السعودية ليعمل مدرس لفن الرسم في معهد إعداد المعلمين.
بعد عودته الى العراق، حاز على بعثة دراسية في المانيا ولكنه لم يستطع السفر الى هناك فسافر بعدها الى ايطاليا للدراسة في اكاديمية دانتي للفنون ولكنه سرعان ما ترك الاكاديمية لعدم تمكنه من تسديد اجورها.
بعد رجوعه الى العراق، تم تعيينه لفترة في مصهر الشباب التابع لوزارة الشباب في بغداد وبعد فترة، سافر الى الامارات للعمل والسكن.
عاد مرة اخرى الى العراق وألتحق في الخدمة العسكرية وتم تعيينه جندي في القاعدة البحرية في محافظة البصرة. وأنجز العديد من الأعمال الفنية ومنها نُصُب تذكاري مع نجاح الجزائري وأكرم خان وقيس عبد الرزاق في أحد المقرات البحرية في البصرة. وقد أنجز خلال مسيرته الفنية العديد من الأعمال النحتية والنُصُب في عدة أمكنة في العراق.
1988 في نهاية الحرب العراقية الإيرانية وأثناء خدمته كجندي مكلف وفي خلال أحد الاشتباكات العسكرية في نهاية الحرب وقع في أسر القوات الإيرانية مع مجموعة من الجنود العراقيين في إيران وبقي سجين لعدة سنوات. اشترك في مسابقة فنية في هولندا كانوا فنانين ايرانيين قد اشتركوا به وكانت اعماله عن الهجوم الكيميائي على مدينة حلبجة حيث رسم ما يقارب السبعة وثلاثين لوحة وحاز على المرتبة الأولى في المسابقة وكانت اللوحات موقعة باسم "ابو حيدر" وكانوا يسمحون له بالتجول خارج الأسر. بعد تدخل من أصدقائه لدى منظمة الصليب الأحمر والهلال الأحمر ولأسباب إنسانية أُطلق سراحه وأوصلوه إلى دمشق -سوريا واقام هناك فترة من الزمن حتى حصوله على اللجوء الإنساني الى الولايات المتحدة الامريكية وسفره إليها وأستقر في مدينة تينيسي.
اشترك في العديد من المعارض الفنية داخل وخارج العراق وصدر عنه كتاب أسمه النحات منقذ الشريدة مخاضات الحياة بين الوجود والموت للدكتور أياد عبد المجيد وعصام الشريدة.
26 سبتمبر 2014 توفى الفنان عن عمر يناهز الثامنة والستين عاماً في مدينة ناشفيل، ولاية تينيسي في الولايات المتحدة الامريكية ودُفن هناك.
