  • 25 February 1937 Born in the Adhamiya district of the capital, Baghdad, Iraq.
  • 1943-1953 Completed her elementary, middle, and high school studies in Adhamiya schools.
  • 1957-1961 Studied and graduated from Queen Alia College, Baghdad.
  • 1957 Participated in the Queen Alia College exhibition, Baghdad, and displayed 21 artworks in it, and participated in the “The Rejections” exhibition at the Women's Union, Baghdad. The late His Majesty King Faisal II visited the exhibition and acquired one of her paintings and a painting from her colleague Widad Al-Orfali, and placed them in his palace.
  • 1958 Participated in the Baghdad Exhibition of Painting and Sculpture in the Mansour Club, Baghdad, and displayed 1 work in it.
  • 1962 Married a dentist called Fadel Al-Qudsi, and they had a son, Abbas, and two daughters, Ghada and Mai.
  • 1965 Held her 1st solo exhibition, Baghdad.
  • 1969-1971 Traveled to the United States of America to complete her graduate studies in Washington at the Catholic University of America and obtained a master's degree in fine arts. Her thesis was about "The Development of Painting in Some Asian Countries: India, China, and Japan".
  • 1974 Participated in the 1st Arab Biennial, Baghdad, displaying 1 painting and wrote a book entitled ‘History of European Art’, which was used in the curriculum of the Institute of Fine Arts, Baghdad. She also participated in the 1st April Art Exhibition at the Academy of Fine Arts.
  • 1975 Participated in the 2nd April Art Exhibition at the Iraqi National Museum of Modern Art, Baghdad.
  • 1976 Participated in the 3rd April Art Exhibition at the Iraqi National Museum of Modern Art, Baghdad.
  • 1977 Participated in the 4th April Art Exhibition at the Iraqi National Museum of Modern Art, Baghdad.
  • 1992 Wrote a book entitled ‘History of Art from the Renaissance to Impressionism’.
  • 1994 Participated in the honorary exhibition of the Pioneers Group at the Arts Center, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Baghdad.
  • 1999 Held her last solo exhibition in Amman, Jordan.
  • She held many solo exhibitions and participated in many art exhibitions inside and outside Iraq.
  • She taught various subjects such as color, pictorial creation, and planning at the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad. She gave several lectures on anatomy, surreal, and impressionist art. She also attended anatomy classes at the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad.
  • 2013 Passed away in China at seventy-six years old, from heart disease; her body was buried in a cemetery in Amman.

    - 25 فبراير1937 وُلدت الفنانة نعمت محمود حكمت في منطقة الأعظمية في العاصمة بغداد في العراق.

    - 1943 – 1953 أكملت دراستها الابتدائية والمتوسطة والثانوية في مدارس الأعظمية.

    - 1957 – 1961 درست وتخرجت من كلية الملكة عالية في بغداد.

    - 1957 اشتركت في معرض كلية الملكة عالية في بغداد وعَرضت فيه 21 عملاً فنياً، واشتركت في معرض "المرفوضات" على قاعة الاتحاد النسائي العراقي في بغداد وزار المغفور له جلالة الملك فيصل الثاني المعارض واقتنى لوحة من لوحاتها ولوحة من زميلتها الفنانة وداد الأورفلي ووضعهما في قصره.

    - 1958 اشتركت في معرض بغداد للرسم والنحت في نادي المنصور في بغداد وعرضت فيه عملاً واحداً.

    - 1962 تزوجت من طبيب أسنان معرف اسمه فاضل القدسي وأنجبا ولد "عباس" وابنتين "غادة ومي".

    - 1965 أقامت أول معرض شخصي لها في بغداد.

    - 1969 – 1971 سافرت إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية لإكمال دراساتها العليا في واشنطن في جامعة الكاثوليك وحازت على شهادة الماجستير في الفن التشكيلي وكانت رسالتها عن "تطور الرسم في بعض الدول الآسيوية: الهند، الصين، اليابان".

    - 1974 اشتركت في معرض السنتين العربي الأول في بغداد وعرضت فيه لوحة واحدة وألّفت كتاب بعنوان "تاريخ الفن الأوروبي" وتم استخدامه في منهاج معهد الفنون الجميلة في بغداد.

    - 1974 اشتركت في معرض نيسان الأول على قاعة أكاديمية الفنون في بغداد.

    - 1975 اشتركت في معرض نيسان الثاني في المتحف العراقي للفن الحديث في بغداد.

    - 1976 اشتركت في معرض نيسان الثالث في المتحف العراقي للفن الحديث في بغداد.

    - 1977 اشتركت في معرض نيسان الرابع في المتحف الوطني للفن الحديث في بغداد.

    - 1992 ألّفت كتاب بعنوان "تاريخ الفن من عصر النهضة إلى الانطباعية".

    - 1994 اشتركت في المعرض التكريمي لجماعة الرواد على قاعة مركز الفنون بتنظيم من وزارة الثقافة في بغداد.

    - 1999 أقامت آخر معرض شخصي لها في عمان، الأردن.

    - أقامت العديد من المعارض الشخصية، واشتركت في الكثير من المعارض الفنية داخل وخارج العراق.

    - دَرّست مواضيع مختلفة كالألوان والإنشاء التصويري والتخطيط في أكاديمية الفنون الجميلة في جامعة بغداد وأعطت عِدة محاضرات عن التشريح والفن السريالي والانطباعي وكانت تحضر دروس التشريح في كلية الطب في جامعة بغداد.

    - 2013 توفيت الفنانة في الصين عن عمر يناهز السادسة والسبعين عاماً إثر مرض في القلب ووري جثمانها الثرى في أحد مقابر مدينة عمّان، الأردن.

    - عضو في جمعية المجلة الفنية في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ومتحف المتروبوليتان.

    - عضو في جمعية الفنانين العراقيين.

    - عضو في نقابة الفنانين التشكيليين.

    - عضو في اتحاد الفنانين العالمي.

    - عضو في جماعة الرواد.
