February 25, 1937 Artist Nimat Mahmoud Hikmat was born in the Adhamiya district of the capital, Baghdad, Iraq.
1943 - 1953 She completed her elementary, middle and high school studies in Adhamiya schools.
1957 - 1961 She studied and graduated from Queen Alia College in Baghdad.
1957 She participated in the Queen Alia College exhibition in Baghdad and exhibited 21 artworks in it, and participated in the exhibition “Refusals” at the Iraqi Women's Union Hall in Baghdad. The late His Majesty King Faisal II visited the exhibitions and acquired one of her paintings and a painting from her colleague, the artist Widad Al-Orfali, and placed them in his palace.
1958 She participated in the Baghdad Exhibition of Painting and Sculpture in the Mansour Club in Baghdad, and exhibited one work in it.
1962 She married a dentist called Fadel Al-Qudsi, and they had a son, "Abbas" and two daughters, "Ghada and Mai."
1965 She held her first solo exhibition in Baghdad.
1969 – 1971 She traveled to the United States of America to complete her graduate studies in Washington at the Catholic University and obtained a master's degree in plastic art. Her thesis was about "The Development of Painting in Some Asian Countries: India, China, and Japan".
1974 She participated in the first Arab Biannale exhibition in Baghdad, exhibiting one painting and wrote a book entitled "History of European Art", which was used in the curriculum of the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad.
1974 She participated in the first April Art exhibition at the Art Academy hall in Baghdad.
1975 She participated in the second April Art exhibition at the Iraqi Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
1976 She participated in the third April Art exhibition at the Iraqi Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
1977 She participated in the fourth April Art exhibition at the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
1992 She wrote a book entitled "History of Art from the Renaissance to Impressionism".
1994 She participated in the honorary exhibition of the Pioneers Group at the Art Center hall, organized by the Ministry of Culture in Baghdad.
1999 She held her last solo exhibition in Amman, Jordan.
She held many solo exhibitions and participated in many art exhibitions inside and outside Iraq.
She taught various subjects such as color, pictorial creation and planning at the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad and gave several lectures on anatomy, surreal and impressionist art, and was the painter who attends anatomy classes at the College of Medicine at Baghdad University.
2013 The artist passed away in China at the age of seventy-six, as a result of a heart disease and her body was buried in a cemetery in Amman, Jordan.
She was a member of the Art Magazine Association of the United States of America and the Metropolitan Museum.
She was a member of the Iraqi Artists Association.
She was a member of the Fine Artists Syndicate.
She was a member of the International Federation of Artists.

25 فبراير1937 وُلدت الفنانة نعمت محمود حكمت في منطقة الاعظمية في العاصمة بغداد في العراق.
1943 – 1953 أكملت دراستها الابتدائية والمتوسطة والثانوية في مدارس الاعظمية.
1957 – 1961 درست وتخرجت من كلية الملكة عالية في بغداد.
1957 اشتركت في معرض كلية الملكة عالية في بغداد وعرضت فيه 21 عمل فني، و اشتركت في معرض "المرفوضات" على قاعة الاتحاد النسائي العراقي في بغداد وزار المغفور له جلالة الملك فيصل الثاني المعارض وأقتنى لوحة من لوحاتها ولوحة من زميلتها الفنانة وداد الاورفلي ووضعهما في قصره.
1958 اشتركت في معرض بغداد للرسم والنحت في نادي المنصور في بغداد وعرضت عمل واحد فيه.
1962 تزوجت من طبيب اسنان معرف اسمه فاضل القدسي وانجبا ولد "عباس" وابنتين "غادة ومي".
1965 اقامت اول معرض شخصي لها في بغداد.
1969 – 1971 سافرت الى الولايات المتحدة الامريكية لإكمال دراساتها العليا في واشنطن في جامعة الكاثوليك وحاز على شهادة الماجستير في الفن التشكيلي وكانت رسالتها عن "تطور الرسم في بعض الدول الاسيوية: الهند، الصين، اليابان".
1974 اشتركت في معرض السنتين العربي الاول في بغداد وعرضت فيه لوحة واحدة وألّفت كتاب بعنوان "تاريخ الفن الاوربي" وتم استخدامه في منهاج معهد الفنون الجميلة في بغداد.
1974 اشتركت في معرض نيسان الاول على قاعة اكاديمية الفنون في بغداد.
1975 اشتركت في معرض نيسان الثاني في المتحف العراقي للفن الحديث في بغداد.
1976 اشتركت في معرض نيسان الثالث في المتحف العراقي للفن الحديث في بغداد.
1977 اشتركت في معرض نيسان الرابع في المتحف الوطني للفن الحديث في بغداد.
1992 ألفت كتاب بعنوان "تاريخ الفن في عصر النهضة الى الانطباعية".
1994 اشتركت في المعرض التكريمي لجماعة الرواد على قاعة مركز الفنون بتنظيم من وزارة الثقافة في بغداد.
1999 اقامت اخر معرض شخصي لها في عمان في الاردن.
اقامت العديد من المعارض الشخصية واشتركت في الكثير من المعارض الفنية داخل وخارج العراق.
دَرّسَت مواضيع مختلفة كالالوان والانشاء التصويري والتخطيط في اكاديمة الفنون الجميلة في جامعة بغداد وأعطت عدة محاضرات عن التشريح والفن السريالي والانطباعي وكانت الرسامة التي تحضر دروس التشريح في كلية الطب في جامعة بغداد.
2013 توفيت الفنانة في الصين عن عمر يناهز الستة وسبعون عاماً إثر مرض في القلب ووري جثمانها الثرى في أحد مقابر مدينة عمّان في الاردن.
عضو في جمعية المجلة الفنية في الولايات المتحدة الامريكية ومتحف المتروبوليتان.
