1984 - 1998 Worked as a professor of fine arts at the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad.
1984 Obtained a Master’s degree in Contemporary Painting from the University of Hartford, USA, and also a PhD in Painting and Design. He held a solo exhibition at the Windsor Public Library, Windsor, USA. He also participated in the Cagnes-Sur-Mer International Festival, France, and the Fourth Al-Wasiti Festival, winning first prize for photography.
1986 Participated in the Baghdad International Festival for Fine Arts at the Arts Center, Baghdad.
1987 Held a solo exhibition at Al-Riwaq Hall, Baghdad, and participated in the 9th Kuwait International Exhibition.
1988 Held a solo exhibition at Iwan Hall, Kuwait, and participated in the second Baghdad International Fine Art Festival.
1989 Participated in the 10th Kuwait International Fair and won the Al-Dhikr Prize, and participated in the third Havana International Exhibition, Cuba.
1990 Held a solo exhibition at the Heritage Center, Kuwait, and participated in the Contemporary Iraqi Art Exhibition, Cyprus.
1992 Held a solo exhibition at Ain Baghdad Hall and designed a mural for the Babel Festival at the Iraqi Artists Association.

1994 - 1997 Appointed as a consultant for doctoral and master's theses in fine arts and head of the graduate studies department in the design department.

2005 Held an exhibition with Ukrainian artist Vladislav Guriev at the Broadway Hall, Amman, and participated at the Javits Convention Center, New York, USA, and at Corporate Center in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
2006 - 2009 Appointed as Professor of Art and Design at the Higher Institute of Arts and Handicrafts, Selina, Tunisia.
2007 Held a solo exhibition at the Sidi Bou Said Hall, Sidi Bou Said, Tunisia, and participated in the international exhibition of the Tunisian Artists Union.
2008 Held a solo exhibition at Kalyste Gallery, Tunisia, and participated in the international exhibition of the Tunisian Artists Union.
2011 – 2012 Worked as a professor of art and head of the fine arts department at the University of Duhok.
He wrote many articles for the London-based International Al-Zaman newspaper and researched the philosophy of art and aesthetics.
2017 Passed away at sixty-four years old in Dohuk, northern Iraq.

1953 وُلد الفنان سعدي عباس بابلي في محافظة بابل، العراق.
1960 - 1970 أكمل دراسته المدرسية للابتدائية والمتوسطة والثانوية.
1971 – 1976 درس وتخرج من اكاديمية الفنون الجميلة في جامعة بغداد.
1975 اشترك في معرض نيسان الثاني في المتحف العراقي للفن الحديث في بغداد.

1984 حاز على شهادة الماجستير في الرسم المعاصر من جامعة هارتفورد في الولايات المتحدة الامريكية ولديه ايضاً شهادة دكتوراه في الرسم والتصميم. اقام معرض شخصي في مكتبة وندسور العامة في وندسور، الولايات المتحدة الامريكية. اشترك في معرض كان سورمير الدولي في فرنسا ومهرجان الواسطي الرابع وفاز بالجائزة الأولى للتصوير.
1986 اشترك في مهرجان بغداد العالمي للفن التشكيلي في مركز صدام للفنون في بغداد.
1987 اقام معرض شخصي على قاعة الرواق في بغداد واشترك في معرض الكويت الدولي التاسع.
1988 اقام معرض شخصي على قاعة إيوان في الكويت واشترك في مهرجان بغداد العالمي للفن التشكيلي الثاني.
1989 اشترك في معرض الكويت الدولي العاشر وحاز على جائزة الذكر ومعرض هافانا الدولي الثالث بكوبا.

2006 – 2009 تم تعيينه كأستاذ الفنون والتصميم في المعهد العالي للفنون والصناعات اليدوية في سيلينا في تونس.
2007 اقام معرض شخصي على قاعة سيدي البحري في سيدي بو سعيد في تونس واشترك في المعرض الدولي لاتحاد الفنانين التونسيين.
2008 اقام معرض شخصي على قاعة كاليست تونس في تونس واشترك في المعرض الدولي لاتحاد الفنانين التونسيين.
2011 – 2012 عمل كأستاذ للفن ورئيس قسم الفنون التشكيلية في جامعة دهوك.
كتب مقالات عديدة لجريدة الزمن الدولية اللندنية وبحث عن فلسفة الفن والجماليات.
2017 توفى الفنان عن عمر يناهز الاربعة وستون عاماً في دهوك شمال العراق.
عضو في جمعية الفنانين التشكيليين العراقيين حيث كان الأمين العام السابق للجمعية.
