1974 - 1979 Studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad and obtained a diploma in graphic arts.

1981 Worked for the Emirati magazine ‘Majid’ and with the ‘Al-Fata Al-Arabi’ House in Beirut. Since that time, he has written several articles on art that were published in both paper and digital newspapers.

2004 Held a solo exhibition at the Högsby Art Hall, Högsby, Sweden. He also participated in the 12th International Biennial at the Museum of Small Formats, Belgium.

2007 Held a solo exhibition at Gallery Storgatan 31. Participated in the Contemporary Iraqi Art exhibition at the Pomegranate Gallery, Soho, USA, and the exhibition ‘Paintings of Lillemor Bokström, Amar Dawod and Jan Wiberg’ at Gallery Järnet, Sweden.
2008 Held a solo exhibition at Gallery 55, Västervik. He also participated in an exhibition of ‘Art from the Kalmar Region’ at the Kalmar Art Museum, Sweden.
