1910 Born to a simple and conservative family in Baghdad, Iraq, in an area called Jadid Hassan Pasha.
1922 Completed his primary education at the Al-Mamounia School.
1928 Completed his secondary education, graduated, and began working on drawing history books after he was assigned by the Ministry of Education and was appointed as a teacher in the Al-Mamounia School.
1930 - 1931 Traveled to London to study at Slade School College and was the first envoy to travel outside the country to study art. He participated in the Agricultural Industrial Exhibition in Baghdad.
1932 Returned to the country after administrative changes occurred in the Ministry of Education, forcing him to return to Baghdad.
1936 Worked in the Iraqi Museum and stayed there for twenty-seven years.
1941 The Friends of Art Association was founded and chaired by the artist, and he participated in its first exhibition.
1942 The artist got married for the first time and participated in the second exhibition of the Friends of Art Association; he also participated in a dialogue with Jewad Selim entitled "Art in Iraq today and in the future" at the invitation of the Society for the Protection of Children in Iraq.
1943 Participated in the third Friends of Art Association exhibition.
1944 His first wife passed away, and he worked on a tourist advertisement book about Iraq in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.
1946 Participated in the Friends of Art Association exhibition in Baghdad.
1947 Participated in the Iraqi Art Exhibition in Cairo.
1948 Participated in the Iraqi Art Exhibition at the UNESCO Hall in Beirut.
1950 Remarried, his wife gave birth to their only son, Shukri.
1952 Participated in the Ibn Sina Art exhibition at the Institute of Fine Arts.
1954 Participated in the Iraqi Art Exhibition in India.
1956 Co-founded the Iraqi Visual Artists Association, was elected vice-president of the administrative board, participated in the Baghdad Exhibition for Painting and Sculpture at Al-Mansour Club in Baghdad, and held a solo exhibition at the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad.
1957 Participated in the Baghdad Exhibition for Painting and Sculpture at Al-Mansour Club in Baghdad and the Contemporary Iraqi Art Exhibition in Beirut.
1958 Participated in the Baghdad Exhibition for Painting and Sculpture at Al-Mansour Club in Baghdad and the Iraq and Britain exhibition at the British Cultural Institute Club in Baghdad. He was elected a member of the administrative committee of the Iraqi Visual Artists Association.
1963 - 1964 Elected President of the Administrative Board of the Iraqi Fine Artists Association; then, he became General Manager of Trade Fairs.
1968 Retired from his job.
1972 Participated in the Al-Wasiti Festival and was honored by the Iraqi Artists Association.
1978 The Ministry of Culture held a retrospective exhibition honoring the artist at the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
1979 Participated in the exhibition of paintings from the fifties in the Al-Mansour Club in Baghdad.
1983 Passed away at the age of seventy-three.

1910 ولد الفنان أكرم شكري لعائلة بسيط ومحافظة في العاصمة بغداد في العراق في منطقة تدعى جديد حسن باشا.
1922 أكمل دراسته الابتدائية من مدرسة المأمونية.
1928 أكمل دراسته الثانوية وتخرج واخذ يعمل على رسم كتب التاريخ بعدما تم تكليفه من قبل وزارة المعارف وتم تعيينه كمدرس في نفس المدرسة (مدرسة المأمونية).
1930 - 1931 سافر الى لندن ليدرس في كلية سليد سكول وكان هو اول مبعوث يسافر خارج البلاد حتى يدرس الفن واشترك في المعرض الصناعي الزراعي في بغداد.
1932 عاد الى البلاد بعدما حصلت تغييرات إدارية في وزارة المعارف أجبرته على العودة الى بغداد.
1936 توظف في المتحف العراقي وبقي يعمل فيه لمدة سبعة وعشرون عاماً.
1941 تأسست جمعية اصدقاء الفن وترأسها الفنان واشترك في معرضها الاول.
1942 تزوج الفنان لأول مرة واشترك في معرض جمعية اصدقاء الفن الثاني واشترك في محاورة مع جواد سليم بعنوان "الفن في العراق اليوم وفي المستقبل" بدعوة من جمعية حماية الاطفال في العراق.
1943 اشترك في معرض جمعية اصدقاء الفن الثالث.
1944 وفاة زوجته الاولى وعمل على كتاب دعاية عن العراق بالتعاون مع وزارة المعارف.
1946 اشترك في معرض جمعية اصدقاء الفن في بغداد.
1947 اشترك في معرض الفن العراقي في القاهرة.
1948 اشترك في المعرض الفني العراقي في مؤتمر اليونيسكو في بيروت.
1950 تزوج الفنان مرة ثانية وانجبت زوجته ابنهما الوحيد شكري.
1952 اشترك في المعرض الفني لابن سينا في معهد الفنون الجميلة.
1954 اشترك في معرض الفن العراقي في الهند.
1956 شارك بتأسيس جمعية الفنانين التشكيلين العراقية وانتخب نائب رئيس الهيئة الادارية فيها، واشترك في معرض بغداد للرسم والنحت في نادي المنصور في بغداد واقام معرض شخصي في معهد الفنون الجميلة في بغداد.
1957 اشترك في معرض بغداد للرسم والنحت في نادي المنصور في بغداد ومعرض الفن العراقي المعاصر في بيروت.
1958 اشترك في معرض بغداد للرسم والنحت في نادي المنصور في بغداد ومعرض العراق وبريطانيا في نادي المعهد الثقافي البريطاني في بغداد. وانتخب عضوا للهيئة الادارية لجمعية الفنانين التشكيليين العراقيين.
1963 – 1964 انتخب رئيساً للهيئة الادارية لجمعية الفنانين التشكيليين العراقيين. وحصل على وظيفة مدير عام لمصلحة المعارض التجارية.
1968 تقاعد من وظيفته.
1972 اشترك في مهرجان الواسطي وجرى تكريمه فيه من قبل جمعية الفنانين العراقيين.
1978 اقيم معرض شامل تكريمي للفنان على قاعة المتحف الوطني للفن الحديث في بغداد وتم تكريمه من قبل وزارة الثقافة والاعلام.
1979 اشترك في معرض اللوحات من مرحلة الخمسينات في نادي المنصور في بغداد.
1983 توفي الفنان عن عمر يناهز الثلاثة وسبعون عاماً.
