1923 Egyptian-American Artist Kamal Yousef was born in Egypt and is a well-known civil engineer. He is considered one of Egypt’s surrealist artist.
The artist is considered as one of the prominent artists of modern plastic art in Egypt and one of the founders of this movement in addition to his works in painting and sculpture. He tried to look into modernism and its styles and promoted it inside Egypt. For seventy years, as a surrealist, he influenced many generations in Egypt and abroad. He belonged to a wealthy family, so he received an excellent education at King Farouk School. He obtained efficient training and excellent education in the visual arts. Among his teachers were the great and well-known artists Ratib Seddiq, Hussein Yousef Amin, and others, especially those who were interested in the surreal style and represented the Egyptian surrealism.
1939 He joined the Art and Freedom Group and participated in its exhibitions.
1946 He joined the Contemporary Art Group as a founding member.
1950 He participated in the International Biennale in Venice, Italy.
1952 He participated in an exhibition held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He also held a solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Cairo.
1954 He participated in the exhibition of the Contemporary Art Group in Paris and lived in Paris for two years. He met a woman named Maria Youssef and married her and they had three children.
1955 He participated in the Alexandria Biennial in Egypt.
1956 He traveled to the United States of America and decided to live there.
1989 He and his family moved to a Dayton city rural area in Pennsylvania after his retirement.
He participated and held several exhibitions in the United States during his stay there.
2012 His wife, Maria Youssef, passed away at the age of eighty.

1923 ولد الفنان كمال يوسف (المصري-الامريكي) في مصر وهو مهندس مدني معروف.
يعتبر الفنان كواحد من أبرز الحراك التشكيلي الحداثي في مصر ومن مؤسسي هذا الحراك بالإضافة الى أعماله في الرسم والنحت فقد حاول أن ينّظر للحداثة وأساليبها ويروج لها داخل مصر. استمرت مسيرته الفنية لأكثر من سبعين عاما. وينحدر من عائلة ثرية، وتلقى تعليما ممتازا في مدرسة الملك فاروق وتلقى تدريبا وتعليما للفن التشكيلي ذا مستوى عالي. كان من أساتذته الفنان الكبير راتب صدّيق، والفنان المعروف حسين يوسف أمين، وغيرهم وخاصة من الذين أهتموا بالأسلوب السريالي ومثلوا السريالية المصرية. ويعتبر هو أيضا من فناني السريالية المصرية.
1939 انضم الى جماعة” الفن والحرية" واشترك في معارضها.
1946 انضم الى جماعة "الفن المعاصر" كعضو مؤسس.
1950 اشترك في البينالي الدولي في البندقية في إيطاليا.
1952 اشترك في معرض اقيم في ساو باولو في البرازيل واقام معرض شخصي في متحف الفن الحديث في القاهرة.
1954 اشترك في معرض جماعة الفن المعاصر في باريس وعاش في باريس لمدة عامين والتقى في امرأة تدعى ماريا يوسف وتزوجها وأنجبا ثلاث أولاد.
1955 اشترك في بينالى الإسكندرية في مصر.
1956 سافر الى الولايات المتحدة الامريكية وقرر العيش هناك.
1989 انتقل هو وعائلته ليعيشا في مدينة دايتون في ريف بنسلفانيا بعد احالته على التقاعد.
اشترك واقام عدة معارض في الولايات المتحدة خلال مكوثه هناك.
2012 توفت زوجته ماريا يوسف عن عمر يناهز الثمانون عاماً.
