1940 Artist Rafa Al-Nasiri was born in Tikrit, Iraq.
1946 - 1958 He completed his primary, middle, and high school studies in different schools in Tikrit and Baghdad.
1956 - 1959 He studied and graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad and obtained a Diploma in Painting.
1959 - 1963 He studied and graduated from his artistic expedition at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, obtained a BA in graphic art, and held a solo exhibition of paintings and graphics at The International Chamber of Commerce Hall in Hong Kong during his stay in China.
1960 He obtained a fellowship at the expense of the Iraqi government to study fine arts in China.
1964 He was appointed as Professor at the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad.
1965 He held a solo exhibition at the Czechoslovak Cultural Center in Baghdad. He participated in the Contemporary Iraqi Graphic Exhibition in the Berlin Museum, Germany, the eighth annual exhibition of the Iraqi Artists Association, and the National Gallery of Modern Art in Baghdad.

He wrote several books about his art, and many books were published by his wife, Mrs. May Mudhafar, during his artistic career.
December 7, 2013 The artist passed away in Amman, and his body was buried there at seventy-three after suffering from cancer, which did not grant him much time to live.
2014 Artist Dia Azzawi held an exhibition, "Homage to Rafa Al-Nasiri," on the occasion of the forty-day passage of his departure at Nabadh Hall in Amman.
2015 His works were exhibited in an exhibition by Arab artists entitled "From Diagnosis to Abstraction" that was held in the Islamic Pavilion in the British Underground in London.

2011 اشترك في معرض "الفن العراقي اليوم" مع ضياء العزاوي وعلي طالب في كاليري ميم في دبي.
2012 اشترك في معرض "الفن العراقي اليوم" مع ضياء العزاوي وعلي طالب في مركز بيروت للمعارض (السوليدير) في بيروت ومعرض "سجّل، الفنون العربية في مئة عام" في المتحف العربي للفنون في الدوحة، قطر.
2013 أقام معرض شخصي في كاليري المرفأ المالي في المنامة.
11 نوفمبر 2013 اقيم له معرض استعادي بعنوان "50 عاماً من الرسم والطباعة" في المتحف الوطني الأردني للفنون الجميلة في عمّان.
ألف عدة كتب عن فنه وصدر له كتب كثيرة من قبل زوجته السيدة مي مظفر خلال مسيرته الفنية.
7 ديسمبر 2013 توفى الفنان في عمّان ووري جثمانه الثرى فيها، عن عمر يناهز الثلاثة وسبعون عاماً بعد معاناة مع مرض السرطان الذي لم يمهله طويلا.
2014 أقام الفنان ضياء العزاوي معرض "تحية إلى رافع الناصري" بمناسبة مرور أربعين يوماً على رحيله على قاعة نبض في عمّان.
2015 عُرضت اعماله في معرض لفنانين عرب بعنوان "من التشخيص إلى التجريد" أقيم في الجناح الإسلامي في المتحف البريطاني في لندن.
2019 عُرضت اعماله في معرض "مسرح العمليات: حروب الخليج 1991-2011" في متحف الفن الحديثPS1 MoMA في نيويورك.
عضو في جماعة بغداد للفن الحديث.
عضو في جمعية الفنانين التشكيليين العراقيين.
