1958 - 1968 Completed his primary, middle, and high school studies.
1970 Began publishing his drawings in various periodicals.
1971 Worked as a children’s illustrator for Majallati and Al-Mizmar magazines.
1974 Participated in the first exhibition of caricature artists, Baghdad
1975 Earned a diploma from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad.
1977 Participated in the Belgium Caricature Exhibition
1979 Wrote and illustrated the animated film The Tree (Al-Shajara) with Raed Al-Rawi. He also won the Honorary Award at the Palestine International Festival for writing and illustrating the animated film The Tree (with artist Raed Al-Rawi), Baghdad.
1980 Earned a bachelor’s degree in painting from the College of Fine Arts, University of Baghdad.
1980 - 1990 Worked as an illustrator in the Children’s Programs Department of the General Establishment for Radio and Television.
1981 Participated in the Exhibition of Arab Children’s Book Illustrators, Bologna, Italy
1986 Participated in the Yomiyuri Exhibition, Japan
1987 Participated in the Caricature Committee Exhibition, Cairo, and in the Cuba International Caricature Exhibition.
1988 Participated in the Exhibition of Arab Caricaturists at the Institut du Monde Arabe, Paris, and in the Turkey International Caricature Exhibition.
1989 Participated in the Arab Satirical Drawing Festival, Kufa Gallery, London
1990 Participated in the Third World Caricature Exhibition for Arab and African Artists, Cairo, and won first prize (shared).
Yasser contributed children’s illustrations, caricatures, and press graphics to numerous publications inside and outside Iraq, including the magazines Al-Mutafarij and Alif Ba’, the newspapers Al-Jumhūriyya and Al-Nahda in Iraq, as well as to Dar Al-Adab in Lebanon and Dar Al-Manhal in Jordan. He illustrated many children’s books both in Iraq and abroad.
2013 Participated in ‘Welcome to Iraq’ Exhibition.
He has participated in numerous art exhibitions dedicated to children’s illustration and caricature, both inside and outside Iraq.
