1938 Born in Al-Maydan District, Baghdad, Iraq.
1944-1955 Completed his elementary, middle, and high school studies.
1955-1959/1960 Studied and obtained a BA in Architecture at the Middle East Technical University in Türkiye.
1961-1964 Worked in the Design Department at the Ministry of Housing and worked on several projects, including urban development of Al-Thawra town, Fudhaliya town, and the West Baghdad housing project.
1964-1968 Worked in the Ministry of Public Works and was responsible for the Educational Building Department.
1964 Won the Cadet Ideal Student award at the Iraqi Military Academy during reserve service.
1966 Participated in a fine art exhibition held at the Gulbenkian Hall at the Iraqi National Museum of Modern Art, Baghdad.
1968-1974 Worked privately in an engineering consultancy office in Baghdad that provided advice to the Middle East.
1968 Studied and obtained a diploma in ‘Tropical Studies’ from the Architectural Association in the United Kingdom.
1970 Participated in an exhibition at Gallery Contact, Beirut.
1974-1981 Became the principal partner in charge of technical operations in the Technical Studies Bureau in Beirut, Lebanon, and Athens, Greece.
1978 Held a solo exhibition of his artworks in Polyplano, Athens.
1982 Founded and headed the Technical Studies Bureau of the Al-Alousi Foundation in Baghdad and the Al-Alousi Associates in Limassol, Cyprus, with more than forty years of experience in planning, designing, and managing residential, commercial, industrial, and governmental projects.
1984 Participated in the British Architects Exhibition at the Royal Institute of British Architects, Centre for Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies in London, UK.
1985 Participated in an exhibition at Al-Orfali Gallery in Baghdad and authored his book ‘Visual Diary of an Arab Architect’ published by Arab Institute for Research & Publishing, Beirut.
1986 Participated in an exhibition at Al-Orfali Gallery, Baghdad.
1987 Participated in an exhibition at Al-Orfali Gallery, Baghdad.
1991 Held a solo exhibition at Gallery 70 × 50, Beirut.
1992 Held a solo exhibition at Abu Faisal in Nicosia, Cyprus, and participated in the Venice Biennial of Architecture of the Holy Places, Venice, Italy.
1994 Held a solo exhibition at Abu Faisal, Nicosia.
1996 Participated in the Qana Group exhibition at the Madina Theater, Beirut.
1997 Held a solo exhibition at Abu Faisal Gallery, Nicosia.
1999 Held a solo exhibition at Abu Faisal Gallery, Nicosia, and participated in an exhibition at Zacharia Gallery, Limassol Group.
2000 Held a solo exhibition at the Artist Directory Gallery, Beirut, and participated in an exhibition at Zacharia Gallery, Limassol Group.
2001 Participated in an exhibition at the Art Gallery, St. Petersburg, Russia, and the International M-Art Exhibition, Vienna, Austria.
2002 Participated in an exhibition at the Melina Merkouri Hall, Nicosia.

2012 Participated in an exhibition entitled ‘Dancing Photography’ at Al-Orfali Gallery, Amman, Jordan, and wrote the book ‘Nostus - A Tale of a Street in Baghdad’, which Rimmal Publications published.
2015 Participated in the Side C Photography Exhibition in Limassol.
2016 Al-Adib Publishing House published his book ‘A Visual Diary of an Arab Architect.’
2017 Wrote the book ‘Topos - A Tale of Space and Time’.
2018 Won the Architectural Excellence Award - Life Achievement Award.
Worked as a lecturer at the Higher Institute of Technology in Baghdad and the University of Technology in Baghdad, and conducted several research projects and publications on Islamic and Iraqi architecture and traditional houses in Baghdad.
Member of the Heritage Preservation Committee in Baghdad.
Member of the Iraqi Architects Association.
Member of the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate.

- 1938 وُلد الفنان معاذ الآلوسي في منطقة الميدان، بغداد، العراق.

- 1944 – 1955 أكمل دراسته الابتدائية والمتوسطة والثانوية.

- 1955 – 1959/1960 درس في جامعة الشرق الأوسط التقنية في تركيا وحاز على بكالوريوس الهندسة المعمارية.

- 1961 – 1964 عمل في قسم التصميم في وزارة الإسكان واشتغل على عدة مشاريع منها تطوير حضري لمدينة الثورة وبلدة الفضيلية ومشروع إسكان غرب بغداد.

- 1964 – 1968 عمل في وزارة الأشغال العامة وكان مسؤولاً عن إدارة المباني التعليمية.

- 1964 حاز على جائزة الطالب المثالي في الأكاديمية العسكرية العراقية أثناء خدمة الاحتياط.

- 1966 اشترك في معرض تشكيلي أُقيم على قاعة متحف الفن الحديث (كولبنكيان) في بغداد.

- 1968 - 1974 عمل بشكل خاص في مكتب استشاري في بغداد والذي يقدم الاستشارات للشرق الأوسط.

- 1968 درس وحاز على دبلوم (الدراسات المدارية Tropical Studies) من جمعية الهندسة المعمارية في المملكة المتحدة.

- 1970 اشترك في معرض في كاليري كونتاكت في بيروت.

- 1974 – 1981 أصبح الشريك الرئيسي المسؤول عن التشغيل الفني في مكتب الدراسات الفنية في بيروت وأثينا.

- 1978 أقام معرضاً شخصياً لنتاجاته التشكيلية في بولي بلانو في أثينا في اليونان.

- 1982 أسس وترأس مكتب الدراسات الفنية لمؤسسة الآلوسي في بغداد وشركة الآلوسي للدراسات التقنية في ليماسول في قبرص بخبرة تمتد لأكثر من أربعين عاماً في مجال التخطيط والتصميم وإدارة المشاريع السكنية والتجارية والصناعية والحكومية.

- 1984 اشترك في معرض المعماريين البريطانيين - دراسات الشرق الأوسط في لندن.

- 1985 اشترك في معرض في كاليري الأورفلي في بغداد، وألّف كتاب "يوميات بصرية لمعماري عربي: معاذ الآلوسي – صدر عن المؤسسة العربية للدراسات والنشر، بيروت.

- عمل محاضراً في المعهد العالي للتكنولوجيا في بغداد والجامعة التكنولوجية في بغداد وأجرى عدة بحوث ومنشورات عن العمارة الإسلامية والعراقية والبيوت التقليدية في بغداد.

- عضو في لجنة المحافظة على التراث في بغداد.

- عضو في جمعية المهندسين المعماريين العراقيين.

- عضو في نقابة المهندسين العراقيين.
