1928 Artist Yahya Jewad was born in one of the oldest districts in old Baghdad called ‘Bab Al-Saif’ in Al-Karkh side.
1946 He wrote a short story called "The Living and the Dead," which was published in Al-Karkh newspaper.
1947 He opened his first studio for painting, design, sculpture and sketching at a time where there were very few studios of similar function in Baghdad (may be two or three).
1948 He published some translated articles about a number of international artists in Al-Baghdadi Weekly Magazine.
1958 - 1959 He continued publishing several short stories in Al-Mothakaf Magazine.
1956 He participated in the Baghdad Exhibition of Painting and Sculpture at Al-Mansour Club, in Baghdad, in which he exhibited one painting.
1967/1968 The artist was diagnosed with neck cancer near the spinal cord and traveled to Bulgaria for surgery. The operation ended with a paralysis that forced him to sit at home. He stopped working in his studio after that.
Baghdad TV showed several programs about the artist’s experience, including the Cultural Magazine program. The episode was called "Yahya Jewad, an Artist in the Shadow”. He made several TV interviews over the years.
1978 He participated in the annual exhibition of the Department of Fine Arts, by the Ministry of Culture, and published a collection of stories entitled "Horror and Men".
1983 An honorary exhibition was held for him at Al-Rasheed Hall in the Department of Fine Arts in Baghdad.
1984 The artist passed away at the age of fifty six with artistic productions in painting and sculpture, as well as literature in the genre of novel and story.
He was a member of the Iraqi Artists Syndicate.

1928 ولد الفنان يحيى جواد في المحلة الشعبية "باب السيف" في بغداد – الكرخ في العراق.
1946 كتب قصة قصير اسمها "احياء واموات" وتم نشرها في جريدة الكرخ.
1947 فتح استوديو له للرسم والتصميم والنحت والتخطيط.
1948 نشر بعض الاعمال المترجمة عن سيرة فنانين عالميين في مجلة الاسبوع البغدادية.
1958 – 1959 استمر في نشر عدة قصص قصيرة في مجلة المثقف.
1956 اشترك في معرض بغداد للرسم والنحت في نادي المنصور في بغداد وعرض فيه لوحة واحدة.
1967 / 1968 اصيب الفنان بمرض السرطان في العنق قريب النخاع الشوكي وسافر الى بلغاريا لإجراء عملية جراحية ولكن انتهت العملية بعمل شلل نصفي الذي اجبره على الجلوس في المنزل ولم يعمل في الاستوديو الخاص به من بعدها.
عرض تلفزيون بغداد عدة برامج عن تجربة الفنان منه برنامج المجلة الثقافية وكانت اسم الحلقة "يحيى جواد فنان في الظل" وعمل عدة لقاءات تلفزيونية على مر الاعوام.
1978 اشترك في المعرض السنوي لدائرة الفنون التشكيلية ونشر مجموعة قصص بعنوان "الرعب والرجال".
1983 اقيم له معرض تكريمي على قاعة الرشيد في دائرة الفنون التشكيلية في بغداد.
1984 توفى الفنان عن عمر يناهز ستة وخمسين عاماً بنتاجات فنية تشكيلية في الرسم والنحت، والادب في مجال الرواية والقصة.
