  • 1943 Born in Najaf, Iraq
  • 1968 BA in painting from Institute of Fine Arts, Baghdad
  • 2007 Family fled from Iraq to Syria
  • 2008 Family resettled to the United States

  • 1971-1973 Designer of posters, books, magazines, Cultural Ministry 1972-1995 Director of Exhibitions, Department of Fine Arts of Iraq
  • 1973-1983 Director, National Museum of Modern Art, Baghdad
  • 1986-1988 General Secretary of the Higher Commission for the 1st and 2nd Baghdad International Festival for the Plastic Arts (1986, 1988)
  • 1978-1992 Secretary of National Commission for Plastic Arts (UNESCO) AIP
  • 1990-1995 General Director, Department of Fine Arts of Iraq (directed activities of galleries throughout the country)
