1934 He graduated from the teachers' primary school and worked as an art teacher in many schools in Baghdad.
1937 - 1940 He traveled to Rome to complete his studies of art at the Italian Royal Academy of Fine Arts with scholarship granted to him by the Iraqi Ministry of Education. However, he returned to Iraq because of World War II.
1940 After returning to Baghdad, he worked in the General Archeology Department of the Iraqi Museum and stayed there for four years.
1942 He traveled to the Yezidis region north of Iraq. He made a group of art works called the "Yezidis Group on Eid Al-Tawafa", which is displayed in the permanent collection of the National Museum of Modern Art.
1946 He traveled to London to study the art and history of painting, first at “Goldsmiths College” and then at the “Slade College of Fine Arts / University of London” after receiving another scholarship from the Ministry of Education and then graduated from it after four years.
He participated in the British Council Exhibition / Learners in Great Britain.
He returned to Baghdad and worked in the Al-Tahrir College, the Institute of Fine Arts, and primary and middle schools.

1972 He was honored by the Iraqi Artists Association.
1973 He participated in an exhibition of artists who studied in Rome at the Arts and Heritage Association in Baghdad and an exhibition of the Iraqi Visual Artists Association in Baghdad and was appointed as director of the Craft Center at the Ministry of Education.
In Germany, specifically at Martin Luther University, the artist was appointed as General Director of the Folklore Center at the Institute of Folk Arts and Industries.
1977 - 1980 He participated in all the collective exhibitions held at the National Museum of Modern Art
1979 A retrospective exhibition of his artworks was held in the hall of the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
1981 The municipality of Rome honored the artist and won the bronze statue for his personal exhibition. He founded the Folk Heritage Center for the Arab Gulf States in Qatar and joined as a founding member. In Baghdad, he was working on a project to build a folklore house but he suffered a stroke and was unable to open it and retired in the same year.
1987 The artist passed away in his residence at the age of seventy-four.

نيسان 1913 ولد الفنان عطا صبري في مدينة كركوك في العراق.
1934 تخرج من دار المعلمين الابتدائية وعمل كمدرس فن رسم في مدارس متعددة في بغداد.
1937 – 1940 سافر الى روما ليكمل دراسته لفن الرسم في الأكاديمية الملكية للفنون الجميلة بعدما حصل على بعثة من وزارة المعارف ولكن رجع الى العراق بسبب الحرب العالمية الثانية
1940 بعد رجوعه الى بغداد، توظف في دائرة الاثار العامي في المتحف العراقي وبقي يعمل هناك لمدة اربع سنوات
1942 سافر الى منطقة الايزيديين وعمل مجموعة أعمال سميت "مجموعة الايزيديين في عيد الطوافة" وهي من مقتنيات المتحف الوطني للفن الحديث.
1946 سافر الى لندن ليدرس فن الرسم وتاريخه اولاً في كلية كولد سميث وبعدها في كلية سليد للفنون الجميلة/ جامعة لندن بعدما حصل على بعثة اخرى من وزارة المعارف وتخرج منها بعد أربع سنوات.

1966 توظف في مديرية الإشراف التربوي كمفتش متخصص بالرسم.
1970 أسس أول مركز للحرف والصناعات الشعبية وأصبح مديره.
1971 أصبح مشرف فني في مجلة الأطفال "علاء الدين" واشترك في معرض الفن العراقي المعاصر في بغداد.
1972 تم تكريمه من قبل جمعية الفنانين العراقيين.
1973 اشترك في معرض للفنانين الذين درسوا في روما في جمعية الفنون والتراث في بغداد ومعرض جمعية الفنانين التشكيليين العراقيين في بغداد وعين كمدير للمركز الحرفي في وزارة التربية.
في المانيا وبالتحديد في جامعة مارتن لوثر، نُصِّب الفنان كمدير عام لمركز التراث الشعبي في معهد الفنون والصناعات الشعبية.

1979 أقام معرض شامل على قاعة المتحف الوطني للفن الحديث في بغداد.
1981 كرمت بلدية روما الفنان وحاز على التمثال البرونزي على معرضه الشخصي وأسس مركز التراث الشعبي لدول الخليج العربية في قطر وانضم اليه كعضو مؤسس وفي بغداد كان يعمل على مشروع بناء دار التراث الشعبي ولكنه أصيب بجلطة ولم يتمكن من افتتاحه وتقاعد في نفس العام.
1987 توفى الفنان في منزله عن عمر يناهز الأربعة وسبعون عاماً.
