1946 Artist Monqith AlSharidah was born in the Abi Al-Khasib district in Basra Governorate, Iraq.
1951 - 1961 He completed his primary school studies at Al Mahmoudia School, Middle and High School at Abi Al-Khasib School for Boys.
1963 - 1969 He studied and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad and obtained a degree in sculpture.
1971 He traveled to Saudi Arabia to work as a teacher of drawing at the Teacher Training Institute.
After his return to Iraq, he won a scholarship in Germany, but he could not travel there and then traveled to Italy to study at the Dante Academy of Art, but soon he left the Academy because he was unable to pay its fees.
After returning to Iraq, he was appointed for a period at a smelter for young people that belongs to the Ministry of Youth in Baghdad and after a while, he traveled to the Emirates to live and work.
He returned again to Iraq, joined the military service, and was appointed a soldier at the naval base in Basra Governorate. He accomplished many artistic works, including a memorial with the success of Al-Jazaery, Akram Khan and Qais Abdul Razzaq, in one of the naval headquarters in Basra. During his artistic career, he accomplished many sculptures and monuments in several places in Iraq.
1988 At the end of the Iran-Iraq war, during his service as an assigned soldier, and during one of the military clashes at the end of the war, he was captured by Iranian forces with a group of Iraqi soldiers in Iran and remained imprisoned for several years. He participated in an art competition in Holland that several Iranian artists have participated in and exhibited his 37 works about the chemical attack on the city of Halabja, and he won the first place in the exhibition and his works were signed under the name “Abu Haider”. and they were allowing him to wander outside of prison. Some of his friends interfere with the Red Cross and Red Crescent and for Humanitarian reasons he have been released from his catch and evacuated to Damascus-Syria and resided there for a period of time, until he obtained humanitarian asylum to the United States of America and traveled there and settled in the city of Tennessee.
He participated in many art exhibitions inside and outside Iraq, and a book was issued on him called “The Sculptor Monqith AlSharidah, The Travails of Life Between Existence and Death” by Dr. Ayad Abdul-Majid and Issam AlSharidah.
September 26, 2014 The artist passed away at the age of sixty-eight in Nashville, Tennessee, in the United States of America and was buried

1946 وُلد الفنان منقذ عبد الوهاب الشريدة في قضاء أبي الخصيب في محافظة البصرة، العراق.
1951 - 1961 أكمل دراسته المدرسية للابتدائية في المدرسة المحمودية والمتوسطة والثانوية في مدرسة أبي الخصيب للبنين.
1963 – 1969 درس وتخرج من اكاديمية الفنون الجميلة في جامعة بغداد وحاز على شهادة في النحت.
1971 سافر الى السعودية ليعمل مدرس لفن الرسم في معهد إعداد المعلمين.
بعد عودته الى العراق، حاز على بعثة دراسية في المانيا ولكنه لم يستطع السفر الى هناك فسافر بعدها الى ايطاليا للدراسة في اكاديمية دانتي للفنون ولكنه سرعان ما ترك الاكاديمية لعدم تمكنه من تسديد اجورها.
بعد رجوعه الى العراق، تم تعيينه لفترة في مصهر الشباب التابع لوزارة الشباب في بغداد وبعد فترة، سافر الى الامارات للعمل والسكن.
عاد مرة اخرى الى العراق وألتحق في الخدمة العسكرية وتم تعيينه جندي في القاعدة البحرية في محافظة البصرة. وأنجز العديد من الأعمال الفنية ومنها نُصُب تذكاري مع نجاح الجزائري وأكرم خان وقيس عبد الرزاق في أحد المقرات البحرية في البصرة. وقد أنجز خلال مسيرته الفنية العديد من الأعمال النحتية والنُصُب في عدة أمكنة في العراق.
1988 في نهاية الحرب العراقية الإيرانية وأثناء خدمته كجندي مكلف وفي خلال أحد الاشتباكات العسكرية في نهاية الحرب وقع في أسر القوات الإيرانية مع مجموعة من الجنود العراقيين في إيران وبقي سجين لعدة سنوات. اشترك في مسابقة فنية في هولندا كانوا فنانين ايرانيين قد اشتركوا به وكانت اعماله عن الهجوم الكيميائي على مدينة حلبجة حيث رسم ما يقارب السبعة وثلاثين لوحة وحاز على المرتبة الأولى في المسابقة وكانت اللوحات موقعة باسم "ابو حيدر" وكانوا يسمحون له بالتجول خارج الأسر. بعد تدخل من أصدقائه لدى منظمة الصليب الأحمر والهلال الأحمر ولأسباب إنسانية أُطلق سراحه وأوصلوه إلى دمشق -سوريا واقام هناك فترة من الزمن حتى حصوله على اللجوء الإنساني الى الولايات المتحدة الامريكية وسفره إليها وأستقر في مدينة تينيسي.
اشترك في العديد من المعارض الفنية داخل وخارج العراق وصدر عنه كتاب أسمه النحات منقذ الشريدة مخاضات الحياة بين الوجود والموت للدكتور أياد عبد المجيد وعصام الشريدة.
26 سبتمبر 2014 توفى الفنان عن عمر يناهز الثامنة والستين عاماً في مدينة ناشفيل، ولاية تينيسي في الولايات المتحدة الامريكية ودُفن هناك.
