  • 1938 Artist Mohammed Muhraddin was born in Basra, Iraq, and was the youngest of three siblings. He studied at Al-Ma’aqal Elementary School, and his talent for plastic art emerged at an early age when he was dubbed "the school painter". He studied High School at the “Al-Raja’a Al-Ali” Pre-High School in Basra.
  • 1955 He participated in a Group exhibition organized with his colleagues in the Al-Ashar High School.
  • 1956 He studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad in the evening department, and after four years, he graduated with the highest grade and obtained a diploma in the art of painting. His teacher, artist Jewad Selim, and artist Faik Hassan influenced him. Ismail Fattah, Kadhum Haider, Nori Al-Rawi, Talib Makki, Saad Shaker, Tariq Ibrahim, and Muhammad Radi were among the students studying there.
  • 1959 He participated in a group exhibition at the Artists Association in Baghdad.
  • 1960 He traveled to Poland, where he got a scholarship to study Plastic Arts in Warsaw.
  • 1965 He held his first solo exhibition of his graphic productions at Aya Gallery in Baghdad. The same year, he participated in Baghdad's Contemporary Iraqi Art Exhibition.
  • 1966 He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland, and obtained a master's degree in Plastic Arts, where his Polish professors influenced him. Then he studied and was influenced by the attempts of the Spanish artist Antoni Tàpies, especially in the use of various materials. Then, in the same year, he returned to Iraq.
  • 1967 He held his second solo exhibition and participated in the graphic exhibition at Tala Gallery - Baghdad.
  • 1968 He participated in the "Battle Exhibition" at the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
  • 1969 Along with other Iraqi artists, such as Rafa Nasiri, Ismail Fattah, Dia Azzawi, Saleh Al-Jumaie, and Hashem Al-Samarchi, founded a "Toward a New Vision Group".

  • 1974 He participated in the first Arab art exhibition in Baghdad and the cultural festival of Al-Thawra newspaper in Baghdad.
  • 1976 He participated in the Second Arab Art Exhibition in Baghdad, the "Cagnes-Sur-Mer" Festival for Art in France, the International Plastic Art Association Exhibition in Baghdad, and the third April art exhibition at the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
  • 1977 He participated in the exhibition of contemporary Iraqi art in London and Tunisia, the Iraq exhibition in Bonn, Paris, and London, and the fourth  April art exhibition at the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
  • 1978 He held his third solo exhibition entitled "Strange in this World" at the hall of the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad. He used various techniques in his works, such as graphics, photography, and sculpture. He participated in an exhibition of eight Arab artists in London and the International Exhibition for Palestine Support in Beirut. He began focusing on social, global, and local issues during this period with a blatant critical vision.
  • 1980 He held his fourth solo exhibition of his works at Al-Riwaq Gallery in Baghdad, where he exhibited 25 oil works.
  • 1981 He participated in a joint exhibition with the artist Ala Bashir.
  • 1982 He participated in the Second International Exhibition of Wall Posters in Baghdad and won the second prize of appreciation, and participated in the Cairo Painting Biennale.

  • 1989 He held a solo exhibition of paintings and drawings at Al-Orfali Gallery in Baghdad and the second at the Al-Nasiri Studio in Baghdad. He participated in an exhibition of ten Iraqi artists in Paris. He participated in the first Ankara Biennale of Art and won the second prize for painting.
  • 1990 He participated in an exhibition of seven Iraqi artists at the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation in Amman and the Contemporary Iraqi Art Exhibition in Cyprus.
  • 1992 He held a solo paintings exhibition at Baghdad's Saddam Art Center. He participated in an exhibition of three artists in Tunis and an exhibition of three Iraqi artists at the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation in Amman.
  • 1993 He participated in an exhibition of four Iraqi artists at Al Wasiti Gallery in Morocco and the Art Biennale in Bangladesh and won a Medal of Honor with a certificate of appreciation from the Biennale.

  • 2000 He participated in the exhibition "The Magic of Moments in Nature and Place" at Gallery Art in Baghdad and the exhibition "Journeys with Contemporary Art in the Arab World - Contemporary Artists from Mesopotamia" at Darat Al Funun in Amman.
  • 2001 He held his sixteenth solo exhibition of paintings and graphics, entitled "The Trap of Globalization", in Amman and Baghdad.

  • 2008 He held a solo exhibition at the Lions Gallery in Amman, and an exhibition of painting at Sultan Gallery in Kuwait.
  • 2010 He held a solo exhibition of paintings at Al-Orfali Gallery in Amman and another solo exhibition at the Polish Embassy in Amman.
  • 2013 He participated in the first Arab Plastic Art Festival at Ishtar Gallery in the National Library in Amman.
  • 2014 He held his last solo exhibition, entitled "The Dirty War," at Al-Orfali Gallery in Amman.
  • April 23, 2015, The artist passed away in Amman at seventy-seven and was buried there.
  • November 2015 An honorary exhibition was held for him and his family, recalling his artistic career at Bandak Art Gallery in Amman.

  • 1938 وُلد الفنان محمد مهر الدين في مدينة البصرة في العراق وكان الاصغر بين اخوانه الثلاثة. درس في مدرسة المعقل الابتدائية وبرزت موهبته في الفن التشكيلي في عمر مبكر حيث لُقّب "رسام المدرسة". ودرس في مرحلة المتوسطة في متوسطة الرجاء العالي في البصرة.
  • 1955 اشترك في معرض مشترك مع زملاءه في قاعة ثانوية العشار والذي تم تنظيمه من قبلهم لعرض نتاجاتهم التشكيلية.
  • 1956 درس في معهد الفنون الجميلة في بغداد في القسم المسائي وتخرج منها بعد أربع سنوات بأعلى معدل وحاز على دبلوم فن الرسم. تأثر بأساتذته الفنان جواد سليم وبالأخص الفنان فائق حسن وكان من نفس دفعته كل من اسماعيل فتاح وكاظم حيدر ونوري الراوي وطالب مكي وسعد شاكر وطارق ابراهيم ومحمد راضي.
