1941 Born in Mosul, Iraq; other sources mention his birth to be on 29 May 1942.
1946 - 1958 Completed his primary and secondary studies in Mosul, and he liked drawing since elementary school, which preoccupied him from learning other subjects.
1958 - 1961 Accepted into, studied, and graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad, and studied under Faik Hassan, Faraj Abbo, Ata Sabri, Ismail Al-Chekhli, and Kalid Al-Rahhal.
1961 - 1965 Got a scholarship to complete his artistic studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. Within his program, he got an additional training course on woodcarving for one year in the evening shift. At the same time and place, many Iraqi students were studying art too, like Ismail Fattah and his wife Lisa Fattah, Ghazi Al-Saudi, Miran Al-Saadi, Kalid Al-Rahhal, and many other Arab students.
1965 Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and returned to Iraq.
1962 Participated in an exhibition, Rome, organized by the Italian-Arab cultural relations, and he won the Dante Prize; he participated in the San Vito Romano competition, and won the second prize.
1965 Was assigned to the Faculty of Medicine and held a solo exhibition, Baghdad.
1966 Participated in the Thai exhibition, New Delhi.
1968 Appointed at Mousel university’s headquarters - the Deanship of Student Affairs; he founded a museum of crafts and folk costumes at the headquarters of the University of Mosul and participated in the ‘Battle Exhibition’ that was held at the Iraqi National Museum of Modern Art, Baghdad.
1971 Participated in the Contemporary Iraqi Art Exhibition in cooperation with the Iraqi Artists Association, Kuwait, and the Contemporary Iraqi Art Exhibition, Moscow, and was transferred to the ‘Dar Al-Fann’ studio, where he and the artists Najeeb Younis and Dherar Al-Qaddo completed large and distinct artistic paintings about the history of Mosul and the ancient Mosul crafts, becoming the centrepiece of the Mosul Museum.
1972 - 1973 His sketches decorated one of Nizar Qabbani's poem collections, who had visited him several times in Mosul, one of which was accompanied by his wife, Bilqis.
1972 Participated in the Iraqi Contemporary Art Exhibition at the Iraqi National Museum of Modern Art, Baghdad, and the Al-Wasiti Festival and the Iraqi Contemporary Art Exhibition, Armenia.

2002 Held his 34th solo exhibition at the Iraqi Creativity Hall, Baghdad, and participated in the exhibition of the Nineveh Group at the Clock Hall, Mosul, and the Baghdad International Festival for Fine Arts and the ‘April Flowers’ Exhibition.
2003 Participated in the Nineveh Artists Exhibition at Mosul University.
2005 Participated in a group exhibition entitled ‘Playing Another Spring’ at the Hall of the French Cultural Center, Baghdad.
2016 Participated in the Iraqi painters’ exhibition by the Iraqi Visual Artists Association and the Lebanese Artists Association for Painting and Sculpture, Beirut.
2017 Passed away on 12 February at seventy-six years old in Mosul and was buried there.

1941 وُلد الفنان راكان عبد العزيز عبد المجيد آل دبدوب المعروف بـ "راكان دبدوب"، وكنيته "أبو بلال"، في مدينة الموصل في العراق وهنالك مصادر تذكر تاريخ ميلاده يوم 29 مايو 1942.
1946 - 1958 أكمل دراسته الإبتدائية والثانوية في الموصل. وكان يهوى ممارسة الرسم منذ المرحلة الإبتدائية والذي شغله عن متابعة دروسه الأخرى.
1958 - 1961 قُبل ودرس وتخرّج من معهد الفنون الجميلة في بغداد ودرس على يد فائق حسن وفرج عبو وعطا صبري وإسماعيل الشيخلي وخالد الرحال.
1961 - 1965 أبتُعث لإكمال دراسته الفنية ودرس الرسم والنحت في أكاديمية الفنون الجميلة في روما وأشتغل على كورس خاص للنحت على الخشب لمدة سنة واحدة بالدوام المسائي، أثناء وجوده في روما أقام العديد من المعارض الفنية هناك. وكان يدرس في روما مع إسماعيل فتاح الترك وزوجته ليزا وغازي السعودي وميران السعدي وخالد الرحال والعديد من الطلبة العرب الآخرين. ثم تخرّج وعاد الى العراق في عام 1965.
1962 اشترك في معرض في روما أقامته العلاقات الثقافية الإيطالية العربية وحاز على جائزة دانتي وشارك في مسابقة سان فيتو رومانيو وفاز في الجائزة الثانية.
1965 عُين محاضراً في كلية الطب – جامعة الموصل، وأقام معرض شخصي في بغداد.
1966 اشترك في المعرض التايلندي الذي اقيم في نيودلهي.
1968 نُقل الى مقر الجامعة - عمادة شؤون الطلبة وأسس متحفاً للحرف والأزياء الشعبية في مقر جامعة الموصل واشترك في معرض المعركة الذي أقيم على قاعة المتحف الوطني للفن الحديث في بغداد.
1971 اشترك في معرض الفن العراقي المعاصر بالتعاون مع جمعية الفنانين العراقيين في الكويت ومعرض الفن العراقي المعاصر في موسكو ونُقل الى مرسم "بيت الفن" حيث أنجزُ في هذا المرسم مع الفنانين نجيب يونس وضرار القدو لوحات فنية كبيرة ومتميزة عن تاريخ الموصل والحرف الموصلية القديمة، عُدت نواة لمتحف الموصل.
1972 - 1973 زيّنت رسوماته أحد دواوين نزار قباني والذي كان قد زاره عدة مرات الى الموصل أحدها كانت بصحبة زوجته بلقيس.

2001 اشترك في معرض جماعي للنحت والتخطيط بعنوان "لغة الأزميل والقلم" أقيم على قاعة الساعة في الموصل واشترك في مهرجان بغداد العالمي الثالث ومعرض صالون الخريف الثاني ومعرض "انظر إلى مدينتي" على قاعة الساعة.
2002 أقام معرضه الشخصي الرابع والثلاثون على قاعة الإبداع العراقي في بغداد واشترك في معرض جماعة نينوى على قاعة الساعة في الموصل ومهرجان بغداد العالمي للفنون التشكيلية ومعرض "أزاهير نيسان".
2003 اشترك في معرض فنانين نينوى في جامعة الموصل.
2005 اشترك في معرض جماعي بعنوان عزف لربيع آخر على قاعة المركز الثقافي الفرنسي في بغداد.
2016 اشترك في معرض رسامون عراقيون من قبل جمعية الفنانين التشكيليين العراقيين وجمعية الفنانين اللبنانيين للرسم والنحت في بيروت.
12 فبراير 2017 توفي الفنان عن عمر يناهز الستة وسبعون عاماً في محافظة الموصل في العراق ودُفن فيها.
